Having moved to this area recently, I needed a fabulous hairdresser who understood my type of hair and the challenges I face. I found The Colour Shak online and have been very impressed with their service. The staff are warm and welcoming and very knowledgeable. Tia is my awesome hair expert, she knows just what to do to make my hair (& me) look & feel amazing! She is magic with a pair of scissors and really brings out the best in my hair and is officially my hair dresser of choice. The after care advice and products they offer are well thought out and suitable for my hair type and style (they don’t try and upsell expensive useless products). I highly recommend The Colour Shak for colours, treatments and cuts.

When I went into enquire and book my appointment, I was greeted by the lovely Mel, who had such energy, I knew I was at the right hairdresser.
I have never had such a warm welcome before from a hairdresser. On the day of my appointment, the lovely Mel came over to me and made me feel so welcomed, like we were old friends. She took me through the process of my new hair style very thoroughly and then led me to have my hair washed.
That was an amazing experience in its self, I was so captivated and immersed in the calmness of it all, at how beautifully the young lady washed and massaged my scalp. I didn't expect the whole low lights and mystical music as well, along with the ergonomic reclining chair, that's what I call pampering!
Next I was in the hands of lovely Mel, who then slowly, while exchanging conversation with me with great enthusiasm, changed my hair style and brought new life to my hair.
I am pleased with my new hair style, which I believe will be easy to look after, and will be back for more great customer service, pampering and great attention to detail when I comes to haircuts. Thank you Mel and The Colour Shak- Janice Shirley
I am very sad to right this review. Today I had to change my appointment due to a change in a delivery from bay island transport coming to 12.30 pm instead of the morning. I wasn't notified by bay island transport I called them at 8.30 to check everything was OK to find it wasn't. I am sure other island clients will understand. I said I could come after 4pm. I rang the colorshack as soon as they opened and even though I have been a regular client since they opened in redland bay they wanted to charge me a rescheduling fee to re-book of 35 aud. Needless to say I was very disappointed as the circumstances were beyond my control. So beware. Even though I regularly spend between 200 to 300 a visit my business was not valued I was advised by the manager that if I try to book there again this fee would be added to my bill.
Please note I have not cancelled or rescheduled before at short notice, plus I did tried to reschedule later in the day.
Today I was one of the models for the new nanoplasty all natural chemical free hair straightening. I had the beautiful apprentice Mia, a young aspiring hairdresser at The Colour Shak. Owner Kim has always had the most talented stylist and Mia is definitely going to be one of her stars. I have Shirley Temple curls along with it also being bleach. I walked out with straight, soft and untouched colour hair today. Mia has beautiful customer service skills, a lovely personality and such potential to go so far in her career. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
